Telehealth Grief Therapy in CA & NY
Honoring loss. Embracing life. One sunrise at a time.
Therapy for grieving adults looking to feel understood, supported, and less alone.
I specialize in supporting adults navigating the complex experience of loss and grief. My mission is to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their grief without pressure to let go, move on, or follow a timeline.
You're carrying a grief that feels overwhelming—emotionally, physically, cognitively, behaviorally, spiritually, existentially.
-
People who are grieving may feel consumed by sadness, lost in despair, or emotionally unsteady. It can be hard to know how to cope, or whether life will ever feel manageable again. Sometimes, these intense emotions linger and become what’s known as complicated grief—when sorrow and constant mental replay keep someone stuck and make healing feel out of reach.
-
Losing someone significant can leave you feeling unanchored—unsure of who you are or where life is headed without them. It may feel like a part of you is missing, or that your sense of purpose has faded. This is often accompanied by numbness or disconnection, making it even harder to adjust to a world that feels so different.
-
It’s common for those grieving to carry guilt or regret—wishing they had said or done something differently. Some blame themselves for not preventing the loss, while others feel guilty for the relief that came if their loved one had been suffering. These emotions can complicate the grieving process and make it harder to find peace.
I’m Raman.
Hi, I’m so glad you’re here. Grief can leave you feeling overwhelmed, untethered, or unsure how to move forward. I specialize in supporting adults navigating the pain of loss—offering a compassionate space where your emotions are valid, your story is honored, and you don’t have to “move on” to begin healing.
I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (CA), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (NY), and National Certified Counselor. I hold a PhD in Counseling and am a Fellow in Thanatology with over a decade of experience in hospice, palliative care, and bereavement support. My work is grounded in compassion, cultural sensitivity, and evidence-based care to help you carry your grief with intention.
I specialize in…
-
Anticipatory Grief
The heartache that begins before a loss occurs, often in anticipation of a death or significant change. It’s normal to think about what life will be like after the loss occurs and how you will cope. You're not alone—and what you're feeling is valid.
-
Ambiguous Loss
Grief without closure. It may come from losing someone emotionally while they’re still physically here—like in dementia, estrangement, or illness—or from not knowing what happened. It’s a confusing kind of grief that can leave you feeling stuck, unseen, and emotionally exhausted.
-
Bereavement
The deep grief that follows the death of someone significant. It can bring waves of sadness, numbness, anger, or longing—and it often affects your identity, relationships, and daily life. There's no timeline or "right way" to grieve. You’re allowed to miss them and still find your way forward.
